While I don’t doubt there being real pride-themed anti-homeless spikes, these are just color overlaid over the image.

I do actually doubt that pride-themed anti-homeless spikes exist.

But I’ve seen people post and fall for this same image so many times it’s like they want them to.

I’ve seen photos of anti-racist anti-homeless benches. They are too short to sleep and and have a sign something like “no space for racists”

Remember, when you see anti-homeless architecture, you are morally obliged to come back later with a hammer to correct it.

It’s pretty ironic that if the homeless vandalize anti-homeless architecture enough, the state will end up housing and feeding them in prison.

        Let’s reframe that:

It’s pretty horrific that the US prison industrial system benefits from imprisoned populations available to the used as slave labor enough that cities with higher homeless populations rather than doing literally anything to help choose to make things harder and more likely for a crime to occur such that homeless folks can be scooped up and dropped into the slave quarters prisons.

Edit: spelling, my god this needs punctuation, use your imagination and add it yourself 👍

Sometimes it comes at a cost though. Remember the LA fires not that many months ago? They used a lot of inmates as cheap and expendable labor to fight the fires.

We need to work shop an effective and fast way to remove these spikes without getting caught, because I can’t think of how a person could do it without it taking a long time.

Hi vis vest and a hard hat would probably be all one needed to look official enough to get it done even if it takes a while.

To be extra convincing, park a white pickup truck with flashing lights nearby. That also gives you somewhere to throw all the spikes instead of just piling them up on the ground.

If you want to really seal the deal and have some money, a work truck with tools in the bed with some screen printing on the door “Lemming Contractor Services” or maybe “Lemming Road Services”

this is the solution. roll up in an f-150 with a hard hat and hi-vis, bolt down concrete anchors and 2x4"s, then lay plywood on top. then put planters around the area to break line-of-sight, and draw a zebra crossing on the road.

Now if you want to get really convincing and prank the city big time, get a team of people, steal the necessary equipment and materials. Remove the spikes carefully, making sure the surface is nice and smooth. Add benches, trash cans and large planters with some nice plants. The choice is yours. Make a large sign with name of the city on it, and add it to the space so that it’s visible.
            Next, a big thing.
Close down the road on both sides. On one side, remove the road lines, paint a bicycle lane and add street lights. Add more benches and trash cans along the way.
On the other side, from which that sign with city name is clearly visible, you’ll rip out the road. Then fill the hole with chunky rocks. Lay evenly spaced sleepers on top of them, put steel rails on top, and anchor them to the sleepers. Next, you fill the gaps with some smaller stones along the way.

Optimally, you’ll keep this prank ongoing through the entire country and add other necessary components to it.

Pride-Themed Anti-Homeless Spikes Under Underpass: Fact Check

    Summary:
Images of anti-homeless spikes under an underpass painted in Pride (rainbow) colors have circulated online, sparking debate and outrage. However, these images are not genuine.

    • The viral photo showing “pride-themed” anti-homeless spikes was digitally altered as satire. The original image, taken in Guangzhou, China, shows plain concrete spikes installed to deter homeless people from sleeping under a bridge[4][5].
    • Fact-checking organizations confirm the rainbow colors were added digitally and the image was widely shared as a joke or political commentary, not as a real-life example of such hostile architecture[4][5].
    • While hostile architecture-including anti-homeless spikes-is a real and controversial urban design practice[2], there is no verified case of these spikes being painted in Pride colors under an underpass in real life.

    Conclusion:
The “pride-themed anti-homeless spikes” under an underpass are not real; the image is a satirical digital alteration, not an actual example of urban design[4][5].

I appreciate the effort, but just by the way the colours line up with the spikes it’s pretty easy to tell it’s a rainbow filter laid on top of the real anti-homeless spikes.

Then just post the photo with the spikes. The doctored photo is manipulating people into coming up with incorrect conclusions.

pride-themed anti-homeless architecture is especially cruel when you know how many queer people experience homelessness

those are basically saying “we love white middle class queer people! shoutout to queer people who conform to and accept our violent white supremacist patriarchal society! yay!”

    it’s fucking vile

(yes i know in this case it’s a photoshop but my point still stands)

It’d be pretty comical if someone just used that as a base to help provide drainage for their improv cabin building project. Keeping rain from settling on the baseboards is important after all.
