They’re just good friends. The room was cold and they had to share. They were just kidding around. Their girlfriends took the picture. It’s not sexual.

Okay, can we just sit back and recognize the beauty in that?

Like, if you’re into guys, that’s a god damn beefcake buffet right there. Freddie was pulling some damn fine tail

I mean, he was Freddie fucking Mercury after all. That is like saying Keith Richards has slept with a few groupies and took some drugs

Freddy was bi. He wrote “Love of my Life” about Mary Austin.

I think its more complicated. I think he truly loved Mary - but not in a sexual way, more as a confidante and partner.

She told him that he is gay, not bisexual.

It wasn’t until 1976 that Freddie told his fiancé he thought he was bisexual. Mary later said: “I’ll never forget that moment. I remember saying to him, ‘No Freddie, I don’t think you are bisexual. I think you are gay’.”

I don’t even understand how anyone makes it out of the closet… getting past youfself to be honest with yourself is very hard.

Fucking real. I still struggle with it.

“I’m not really trans, I just love dressing femininely, putting on makeup, enjoy when people call me ma’am at the grocery store, aren’t horrified at the idea of getting my nuts removed or taking female hormones, wish I was a lesbian, love going by a woman’s name, and really want breasts and hips. Nope. Definitely not trans.”

I love the “Sappho and her friend” vibes from the title of this.

Also, Freddie RIP King – Queen 🫡!

Unlike Michael Jackson, who has unfortunately been questionable in character, Freddie has consistently been a good person to my knowledge. He deserves to be a legend along with others.

I can only imagine the rationalizations folks came up with for this back in the day. That’s like saying Liberace wasn’t gay.

I still can’t figure out why anyone cares. Liberace had batshit insane skills. None of the stuff he played was anywhere close to what I like, but every time he came on tv back in the day, I was glued to it. Why the fuck does anyone care who he loves ? For those that have never seen the man play, enjoy.

Man, my one grandmother loved Liberace.

And you’re right, dude was a genius on the keys. Brilliant performer.

It isn’t like nobody knew he was gay. But his fans did not give a shit, including my grandmother who was actually a bit of a bigot about that. Not venomous or anything, but definitely not approving, and prone to prejudice. But he was never anything but an idol to her, even with her believing he was gay.

That’s how good a performer he was.

I think for some of those people that deep down dislike gays (or minorities for that matter) but have a friend who falls into one of those groups or are a fan like in this case just tell themselves “but (person) is one of the ‘good ones’”.
