Sometimes I feel like the only person with ADHD that isn’t late to anything because I can’t stop thinking about the appointment or whatever so the whole day before that point is just spent being ready and not doing anything else.

Having a mid-to-late afternoon thing is just an entire day, ruined.

My spouse cannot understand why I can’t make plans earlier in the day when I already have something scheduled. But they don’t have the problem where if they let something else have their attention for even a short time, all of a sudden it’s bedtime and they completely forget about the appointment.

It’s also a struggle for me with getting ready in the morning. I have to try and find the sweet spot where I’m ready a little early but not so early I decide I have time to do something else and then I’m late.

You are not alone. I tend to be the “sorry I can’t do anything today I scheduled an appointment four days from now” kind of person. Meds have helped but still takes effort to be like “I seriously do not need two hours or more to prepare to go to the fucking dentist.”

I think it just depends on what activates your over anxiousness.

I’ve been thinking about my dentist appointment for the last week because I was afraid of forgetting it or getting late.
