I’m totally down with croutons.
Food isn’t only about taste. Good food has differences in feel and bite that give your mouth something fun to do, and makes it interesting, and texturally varied.
Good food is a multisensory experience.
I love croutons so much I can eat them by themselves.
living squirming octopus
The octopus is eating a crouton.
I’m eating the octopus that’s eating a crouton.
We once were served a salad in Greece that had an octopus tentacle stuck out of the top as a centerpiece. Not alive, but hey. Nobody fancied the tentacle and we all just ate around it…
But what about all those people who apparently don’t have any teeth?
Salad caltrops.
TIL I eat (salad) caltrops. 🥷 Fuck yeah.
Same guy drinking water: “The fuck, where’s the burp inducing acid?”
I’m a dark rye masochist.
My theory is he went, "hey, what if we flipped this from a sandwich with a little bit of lettuce, to a sandwich with a REAL LOT OF LETTUCE? And we soak it in dressing? And eat it with a fork?
Maybe rip the bread though.
👋 Walnuts.
“How can I make this hurt and taste more like poison?”
Walnuts and hazelnuts taste loads better after soaking them in water overnight. I never realized how disgustingly dry they usually are until I tried this method.
Have you ever had fresh walnuts? You can peal off the skin, which is the bitter part. The off-white inside is quite sweet. They have to be quite fresh - once they dry out a bit they’re unpealable (that isn’t a word according to my spellcheck, but screw that guy, I’m making it a word).
Floss.
I was thinking croutons aren’t that hard but then I remembered restaurant croutons or even pizza place croutons.
