Remember: Voting does matter! If everyone votes harder and do activism things will change and fascism will be defeated and all supporters of Trump will suddenly go away.

    It’s a sound strategy.

voting doesn’t matter. Only activism matters. But I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic either.

I prefer activism over pouting. I just called my reps to ask them to vote No on cloture on the Continuing Resolution. If they know what we want them to do, they are much more likely to do it. It would take 8 dem senators to pass the CR, so they need to ask for something for those votes. Tell them to use what power they have. Make the call, send the email. Then, if you still want to, go for it pout all you want.

Take direct action to improve your own life. Organize your workplace, your community, your neighborhood so that you mutually aid each other and fix each other’s problems, instead of beggingthe politicians or bosses to do it for you. The more you self-organize, the more your life improves, and the more the system destabilizes due to its own internal contradictions.

            Organize your community.

Read history and theory from other radicals.

Find like minded people and put your labor into providing food and everyday essentials like soap to your community members who can’t afford them.

Gather in the streets and make your voices heard.

Work on a community garden and plant vegetables at home if you can.

Forge bonds with your literal neighbors and learn what about the accessibility needs of those around you.

Make emergency preparednes kits and discuss plans with your neighbors and comrades.

Talk to the queer people you know who don’t feel safe in their home/city/state/country about what they need to be safe.

Build bonds with real people who also want to make change, and dont fucking talk to cops.

Learn about the dangers both infiltration and jacketing pose to radical movements, and practice disciplined opsec.

Do all of this and anything else that your local community needs to survive and thrive without relying on fascist government or capitalists generally.

TLDR: Practice mutual aid and solidarity.

I actually do most of these already… I just don’t really see how they get us out of the current crisis. But maybe there simply isn’t a short-term solution.

I’m worried that if the government slips into full fascism then organizing is going to get a lot more difficult and dangerous.

Talk to and listen to people around you. Don’t just try to change their minds without first seeing (and convincing them that you see) their point of view. As senseless as this situation seems, people do have their reasons. It’s only when we understand what drives each other that we have a basis for cooperation.
