Two years after acquiring global rights to 'Warhammer 40,000', Amazon MGM Studios has launched the development of a TV series based on the popular game.
While I agree about Foundation, I really don’t know how anyone would properly adapt the book(s) and make something enjoyable to watch. The book is an important piece of sci-fi and inspired a lot of writers, but it really has aged like milk: it doesn’t even have a named female character until 3/4 of the way through the book, and even then it can’t pass the Bechtel test.
I’m not commenting on the quality I expect, just the company involved. I actively go out of my way to avoid Amazon as much as possible, so I will not be seeing this.
And ofc rich things gonna have nice things (nice budget = at least nice looking results), but at the sauce it’s just really really dirty money being fatter.
There’s like over a hundred novels to choose from, some of them are pretty decent.
My guess is he’s going to do Gaunt’s Ghost by Dan Abnett. It’s good enough to be a stand alone series even if you don’t know much about the 40k universe.
Ugh had to be Amazon.
Better than Netflix. Or what Apple did to Foundation.
Amazon has a pretty good track record: Good Omens, Expanse, Tales from the Loop, The Boys, Fallout.

Fans said Dune couldn’t be done. Time skip is easy given the popularity of anthologies.
Gender swapping a character to modernize it is done all the time too.
Amazon did Fallout and it turned out good. Not like how The Witcher was treated at Netflix…

While I agree with the sentiment:
Torrents
Shows like It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Orville are owned by Fox which feeds profit to Murdoch to support Fox News. That’s far worse.
Yes, exactly this.
I don’t feel ok supporting Amazon or Fox.

It’s not like Warhammer has a lot of high quality source material to adapt.
