The first time it happened, there was a thing about Odin making an exception for Kal-El, but that has since been retconned. I don’t recall Wonder Woman needing any exceptions, but she also didn’t use it in her flight with Storm, as it wouldn’t have been fair.

Did the DC writers pen that one? Storm is an omega level mutant. Wonder woman is part of the DC Trinity, but it’s hard to punch hurricanes that land on top of you.
Who won each battle was determined by fan voting prior to the publish date. This was also back in 1996 before Diana got written to be basically immune to the elements and Storm knocked her out with lightning.
Wonder Woman is either a demigod with blessings to exceed that of most Olympians or a full goddess and can match most of Superman’s feats of strength and speed.
Even if Storm could condense hurricane forces into something the size of her fist and have some form of physical resistance she’d still be killed by something moving at near light speed.
Or she’d get sucked into the Invisible Jet’s turbines.
Storm’s Omega-status is due to her global weather control, not personal combat power. Power over a large scale, but not necessarily the small one.
That all said, it’s comics, and speed never gets the respect it’s due.

Did Wolverine bribe Lobo to take a fall? I think I read that in the same trope binge.
If I recall, their fight was largely off-screen just at the end Logan was smoking a cigar in a demolished bar.
The answer is appreciated, root:root.
