People say a lot of stuff to rationalize their behaviour while they are still doing it. But with time and space, can put together that the problem wasn’t that other people “chose” to feel hurt about it. They will always be hurt if it came by surprise and you didn’t have consent first. Hell, even in proper polygamous relationships with as much consideration and communication as possible, it can be a challenge to not hurt anyone.
