His comments appeared to be a shift from June, when he said during a CNN debate, “I will not block it.”

The idea of directing the FDA to revoke access to mifepristone is a core policy plan in Project 2025, a 900-plus page document written by conservative groups and organized by the Heritage Foundation that lays out a governing plan for the next GOP presidential administration.

Trump’s abortion stance suddenly falling in line with Project 2025 is certainly a shocking and unexpected turn, considering how adamant he’s been that he’s never even heard of it and Republicans are saying how it’s all a “liberal” delusion anyhow.

    (And yes that was sarcasm.)

Trump’s relationship with Project 2025 is giving Austin Power’s “that’s not my penis pump” scene vibes, but much less amusing.

The unfortunate thing is that I can attest to this whole charade is at least working on some conservatives (ie my dad) who has earnestly told me that Trump said he’s not involved in 2025 and that he won’t implement abortion restrictions at the federal level. So it’s all okay!!! And how that means that I should vote for Trump now…as if that was the one singular problem I have with the perpetual lying cheeto.

Even if you are against abortion and feel your opinion is so important you need to force it upon others, it makes no sense to block this medication. There are many medical reasons for needing it. I needed it twice myself because I was pregnant, but the pregnancy was not vital and my body did not miscarry on its own. I would love to have children, but in those cases there was no unborn life to protect as it would have never become a baby. I was very happy to have access to this medication, because being pregnant for months while wanting a baby and knowing that you will not have a baby is very difficult and confusing psychologically. Taking the medication was difficult as well, but in the end I was glad I did.

(I am not against abortion, I just cannot see why it would be logical to ban this medication even if you are.)

I phone bank with the DCCC and had a conversation with a woman last night about how she’s morally against abortion, but still believe people should have access to abortion if they so choose.

I thought it was really heartwarming that she wasn’t imposing her beliefs on all of America. It gave me hope

Yes, I can completely respect that people do not want to have an abortion themselves or maybe even have difficulty with it. But I think it is not right to impose this believe on others. It is very good to meet people like that sometimes and see the other side. My christian friend is the same.

      medical reasons

ah you’ve lost them already I’m afraid. They just don’t care about silly things like your health or being able to live through pregnancy, or even if the child lives postpartum. If both mother and baby die during childbirth then at least there wasn’t an abortion.

That is just really sad. Evil is defined by a lack of empathy and this way of thinking clearly shows a lack of empathy.

I know it’s technically a strawman but there’s a lot pushing for a no-exception abortion blanket ban and that’s what that means, even if they are sketchy about admitting it publically

Of course, he has to contradict himself on every issue, so that every insane voter will hear something they want to hear.

No lie. These sorts of stories are meaningless to me. The only sorts who would pay attention are those who haven’t paid attention for the last 8 years. And those people are far more common than most think.

What a ridiculous headline. They asked Trump whether he would ban mifepristone. From Trumps answer it was pretty clear that he has no idea what mifepristone is (which in itself is more damning than the rambling answer he gave).

What’s the over-under on the number of abortions this disgusting entitled fuck has facilitated in his 80 years molesting and raping his way through life?

It really doesn’t matter what he says for two main reason.

    1. No matter what he says, he’s likely lying or going to do the opposite anyways.

    2. He’s going to lose. With that being said, VOTE!!! Volunteer to give rides to those that couldn’t vote without it.

Yeah, we are way beyond giving a a shit where he stands on “issues”. He is reliably unreliable. He could say he’s pro abortion pro union, pro women’s rights, pro living wages, and anti billionaire and even if those are issues that matter to you, you’d be a damn fool to pay him any heed.

I keep seeing this advice, the volunteer ride thing. What’s the deal with that? Also I’m in a pretty blue area, so does it really make a big difference?

Every vote counts. By design, it is made more difficult for blue voters to get to a place to vote. Volunteering to drive people to get to vote is just one little thing you can do.

As a non-American I’d politely suggest all Americans assume it could make a difference and not take any chances this time around. The stakes are just too high.

Duh. Trump is open to anything that will get him more money from idiots or re-elected so he can avoid consequences for his multitude of crimes. Ideally both.

If the twitter twit said he’d give Donald $50M to support a ban on cantaloupe, the next press conference with him would be someone should really look into this and the Fox news headline the next day would be about dangerous illegal immigrants smuggling fentanyl inside cantaloupe.
