I’ve long had a SteelSeries 6gv2 and it has served me well but I want to replace it.

I like the keyboard a lot because it has quite a basic design with no fancy colors and no RGB. However I find it really difficult to find a replacement - all the keyboards I find are full of “gamer” RGB lights and red WASD keys and all kinds of other (to me) annoying/distracting design elements.

Where would I find something similar today?

  • Basic design, ideally just all black color with white text.
  • 100% or ideally TKL.
  • No RGB or “gamer” stuff.
  • Cherry MX Black switches or similar.
  • Need to support Nordic (Danish) layout.

You can turn off the LEDs. I actually prefer them in a dim warm white color which makes them easy to read in low light without being annoying.

Maybe take a look at the GMMK or GMMK 2? It has rgb but you can turn it off without needing extra software. I bought mine barebones from Glorious but set it up pretty much exactly how it comes setup, but with my own ISO keycaps

If we’re just trying to keep it simple with a single, reputable vendor:

    Keychron v3 barebones TKL
White on Black “OSA” keycaps, which look “swoopy” and modernly retro, but mostly feel like regular OEM on your SteelSeries
    Gateron Black switches.

EDIT: Nordic makes it a little more expensive at Keychron and with fewer options, but it’s still doable. If you get one that’s QMK compatible, any ISO can be Nordic, and you just need to source keycaps, which they do have though I don’t see them in white on black.
