    My only worry is biotech companies expecting royalties or something from “their gene” of crop at every harvest.

    The genetic modification company’s ownership/patent of their seed product should end as soon as it is in the ground.

        There was this famous case between a Saskatchewan farmer and Monsanto. Unfortunately he died at the age of 89.
