I keep getting an event saying that if I pay a bunch of silver, someone will tell me where to find a shaman who can heal permanent injuries. I really want this since my best fighter got brain damage and can’t spend 1 second outside without collapsing. I’ve paid several times, nothing seems to happen and I never get any notification telling me where to go to find this magic healer.
Is this some kind of “Glitterworld Prince” scam, and I’m being a rube? I’m playing a gravship run, so do I have to stay in one place until someone arrives?

It’s been a while since I used that mod but on the world map there should be an icon that looks like a pair of hands. Make sure that everyone you send (even the pack animals) are perfectly healthy except for the guy with brain damage. The shaman can and will pick your alpaca with a missing hoof over your fighter.

Never used this mod, never even heard of it before, but I wonder if it’s still necessary to only send perfectly healthy pawns with the injured one. I assume the shaman is really just acting as a healer mech serum and, if so, a recent-ish update should have made it and the unnatural healing ability smarter, to prioritize more serious injuries.

You could fix brain damage yourself with cybernetics or some rare drop you can almost always find for sale in a big empire city.
It might not be a scam; but there are surely easier ways of getting the outcome you desire. But I mean… Have you checked the world map for new POIs? That’s generally how these quests work and the game doesn’t exactly tell you that they’ve been added unless you have verbose messages enabled.
