This IS the Grand Purpose.
People are trying to justify the suffering they have endured.
There’s that, but there’s also the realization that, if there’s no externally mandated “purpose”, then it is up to each of is to determine our own purpose. For some that brings a powerful sense of freedom, but for others, that demands a terrifying level of responsibility. For them it’s more comforting to live within that bubble.
…and it grows faster than you can read them too…
Tea for me, but otherwise … uh … the 18 book pile next to my right elbow has room for roughly two more books of the same average thickness before it becomes a second pile.
Art and its enjoyment are a Grand Purpose.
