It would be great for O’Brien to show up in every era of Trek after DS9 through the same kind of transporter accident that brought Scotty into TNG - but have it happen once in each show.
Lol … and just get an actor that kinda looks like Colm Meaney and whenever his appearance is questioned, he just passes it off as being an imperfect buffer clone.

Yes! Anytime Colm can’t join for the episode, they should just cast John C Reilly, and then only barely acknowledge it.
Then, eventually, they can do a transporter clone episode with both Colm and John.
