I enjoyed the show but the episodes were too damn short. Maybe six longer episodes instead of ten super short ones would have been a better choice.

Ya right when I was getting into it credits would roll, it was infuriating! Show is ok, books are amazing.

Short with frustrating cliffhangers! Sometimes shows can do it where a cliffhanger feels at least a little satisfying, I can only remember one this season that didn’t make me want to throw the remote through the tv.

I’ve otherwise enjoyed it though, very funny and I think the characters are great.

Excellent, this series was so well done, and so funny. Alexander Skarsgård’s murderbot is so sarcastic and just wants to watch his soaps and not deal with people behaving like…people.

I love how Sanctuary Moon was depicted with real actors as an over-the-top space opera with phantasmagorical colors. The original novella only hinted that the show was a mediocre serial among many that happened to become formative in SecUnit’s development of their personal philosophies and ethics.

I don’t think it’s excellent. It’s good, and I watch it, but I wouldn’t have been surprised if it were cancelled.

Yeah, same here. I’ve almost stopped watching it a few times, a lot of the sub themes around the crew were kinda stupid compared to the original books.

The books had zero side story, if I recall correctly. It was a short novella with only SecUnit’s biased and somewhat unreliable point of view. I think the crew’s cringey moments in the adaptation were tasteful since it helps illustrate how uncomfortable SecUnit feels.

They were minor hints mostly, but a lot of his annoyance seemed to stem from them not always taking his advice and how they weren’t operating with efficiency, but rather trying to be decent humans. I think they went a bit over the top on the show, which detracted from my viewing of the show.

    [off topic]

    I like her earlier works.

“Death Of the Necromancer” is a thieves versus wizards story set in a realm not unlike 1880’s Vienna. I like folks taking a train to consult with a witch.

“The Wizard Hunters” is a follow-up, where the original heroes have a daugher who is dealing with a magical airship invasion…

I’m waiting for Friday so I can watch the last 2 episodes. Good show, I actually like how short the episodes are. I think it fits just right with the material.

I think they overplayed some situations (For example the scene where murderbot is ambushed by sec unit who is ambushed by the bug after punching eggs), but overall I’ve really been enjoying the show. It’s got a certain lighthearted nature to it that I feel I could watch for quite some time.

I hate the runtime, 18 minute/week, really? A three episodes series would have been better. Characters are stupid for the Sake of being stupid.

Hope at least Martha will earn something, because even after her involvement the show isn’t doing any good.

Sunk cost fallacy is keeping me hooked to this show.

I can write paragraphs bitching about everything wrong with that show.

RIGHT?! I feel like i’m in crazy town after reading some of the positive reviews. I thought the books were amazing but the tone of the show is just really off for me, I’m really struggling to vibe with it. They had incredible source material and for a bit there I felt like they went full Halo with it. I have no idea what they were thinking, it could have been REALLY good.

Honestly the books weren’t especially great either. The first four novellas were decent and entertaining, but after that it really started to drag, lose the plot, and murderbot itself became an annoying abrasive character

I’m enjoying Murderbot, the source material is great and the Sanctuary Moon scenes are fantastic. Would be nice if they could tighten things up with the dialogue in season two, and definitely agree about the episode length it’s noticeably short

I absolutely loved the books but stopped watching after episodes 4 and 5. Episode 4 should have been five minutes long, and I just cannot deal with this cringey LeBeeBee character they added for no reason.

Books are incredible, for some reason i’m really struggling to vibe with the show. I always pictured murderbot as some hulking master chief/space marine intimidating beefcastle, thats why the humour worked so well because he’s so awkward. Also I don’t remember the scientists being absolute hippies. I like the show just fine but a few tweaks here and there could have made it great. I think the books had my expectations for the show too high.
