During a Tuesday hearing at the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, the DOJ urged a three-judge panel to issue an emergency stay of a lower court order and allow the Trump administration’s deployment of the California National Guard to continue in Los Angeles — going so far as to argue a president’s federalization of militia can’t be second-guessed by the courts, even if the chief executive mobilized forces from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., simultaneously.
Oh right, blame the voters in a rigged election. Makes total sense.
Yup. Until they take responsibility for the impact of their ego stroking and try to do anything at all to help, we’re not going to let the people just shy of collaborators forget it.
Especially when so many continue to double and triple down rather than just accept that they fucked up.
At least the “Arabs for Trump” folks did a pretty much immediate about face. Still awful that they existed in the first place, but at least they had the wherewithal to walk it back when reality hit them.
So many people here just refuse to, and will call your progressive beliefs into question because you don’t bury your head in the sand like them
They were too small a group to appeal to, now they’re solely to blame.
Which is it?
That was always a lie. But they are among the least reliable voters.
I mean, you can’t ignore people or treat them with undisguised contempt if you want them to be reliable voters.
How do you read “take responsibility for their impact” and then jump to “solely to blame.” I swear people just hear what they want so they have a reason to be angry.
Are they to blame, or are they small enough to ignore?
Which one? I get that you want both. But you only get one.
Found the 3rd party voter I guess.
The democratic party is a corpse these days.
That’s the assumption whenever someone contradicts centrist orthodoxy.
It’s wrong, but centrists never let that stop them.
Actually, yeah. A lot of people voted third party and many more stayed home. I will blame them.
What can your party do to appeal to them next time?
Hint: it’s not “jettison marginalized groups” or “move to the right.” That got us here.
You mean saying “I would do nothing different from Joe Biden” wasn’t enough to sway voters to vote? Wow what else could she possibly have done?
Running on the endorsement of Dick Cheney and promising to appoint a republican to her cabinet, naturally.
Thank God we avoided that, right? Right?
I would have thought eating the same gruel every day would have prevailed over eating saute shit a la fascism. As it turns out, Americans aren’t good at binary decision making and some like to be imaginary revolutionaries.
You have the electorate you have. Appeal to them for the first fucking time or keep losing.
I’d rather watch it all burn. The petri dish is long overdue for a rinse in this terribly drawn out social experiment.
Centrism manifest. You would rather destroy than listen to the voters you hate.
I grow apathetic of the purity politics and blind gluttony of the left, yet as a progressive I am obliged to play their game? Fuck that. The price of ignorant bliss is suffering, and I refuse to pander to privileged electorates that think they can afford to play with peoples lives. This isn’t centrism, it’s giving up.
As opposed to a party that is taking advantage of a situation that lets them move as far to the right as they want without accountability.
six of one, half dozen of the other.
Enabling, protecting and funding blatant genocide?
Purity politics have enabled more than one genocide, thanks to the non-voter.
If Harris had ditched the genocide funders in the last weeks of the election she’d be president right now.
