    You hit the nail on the head! This is exactly why I think the American attitude to the French is so peculiar:

    Especially to 250 year old allies with whom we formed

    American culture should remember the role the French played in the American War of Independence (and the French great great great great great grandfathers who died for you) instead of defaulting to that weird and crass “cheese eating surrender monkeys” nonsense.

        I’m not interested in mouth breathing MAGA crowd though.

        I made this point here because too many people on the American left spout this particular rhetoric.

            Oh, sure. Let me rephrase. I’m not interested in the knuckle dragging mouthbreathers of any stripe.

            Too many seemingly otherwise normal, educated US people seem to blindly lean in on this particular rhetoric.

              I was listening to Dennis Leary’s Asshole this morning realizing it was always both sides in this particular way. I knew maga when they were working class Dems. They didn’t suddenly change values ten years ago
