Not that there’s anything wrong with content warnings. But you’d think people who actively celebrate massacres and call for the death of others can handle a children’s cartoon lol

This seems almost sane to me. I think its a very normal experience when watching stuff from your childhood that Adult You isnt cool with at all. I’m sure we’ve all had the experience of watching a movie you loved as a kid when you stumble upon the Racism Olympics Scene, e.g. the asian foreign exchange student in Sixteen Candles, or the blackface fish that appears during Under the Sea in the Little Mermaid. As for myself, I can’t stand plots where the entire plot revolves about our main character refusing to communicate or self-sabotaging for the entire movie, and it would be nice to get a heads-up about that going in even if thats not “triggering”.
I think this is a rare Hexbear W, and I would be happy if this was more normal.
If child-you can handle watching a cartoon horse fall down some stairs, then adult-you can certainly handle it. If not, then something drastically wrong happened along the way.
But the main point is their delight in consuming corporate media. The cartoon is an ad to sell more toys. It’s also about how they feel the need to put content warnings for a cartoon, but not for the memes they have celebrating massacres and atrocities, and the constant calls for violence, death and terrorism. You don’t see the irony of any of this?
You are generalizing bull crap again.
People that join to watch /c/movies together aren’t necessarily watching a kids advertising show to get PTSD again at things people do get phobias with.
Content warnings are great, EVEN WHEN STUDYING HISTORY. If you do find that hexies SHOULD content warn their communities more, TAKE IT TO THEIR /c/META. There’s no irony here, just disagreements on what phobias should or not be warned upon.
E.g., I’m vegan, and did I report you for your KFC comment? No because I comprehended the context of your derisive joke. Should you have content warned for it? That’s a question you have to face with your administrators and sh.itjust.works users.
These are fair generalisations considering examples of their bigotry and irony have been posted all across this community.
No one can comment on Hexbear or any tankie instance because they remove all forms of dissent. You can make these issues known if you want, but you won’t get anywhere. I also like how you’re equating watching corporate childrens media with studying history lol.
If cartoon horses are enough to trigger you mate then you’re fucked wherever you visit online or even in reality.
So, if I comprehend your stance on “⚠️content warnings,” I shouldn’t bother with them at all because I won’t “get anywhere” with people with legitimate phobias?
Not what I was saying
I’m “fairly generalizing” your argument. Unless you want to amend your warnless content from now on, I feel we don’t need to continue this discussion.
Do you disagree that Tankies have posted about celebrating massacres and calling for the death of others?

Now, how safe for children is GI Joe & Transformers⸮
Strong disagree as this infantilizes people. You should as an adult experience art that challenges you and make you feel uncomfortable from time to time.
The only trigger warnings that I think should be shared up front are those that actually trigger PTSD. You aren’t going to have war flashbacks from My Little Pony.
Read a book or two about PTSD. It has nothing to do with war, it’s about trauma. You can acquire a trauma in many ways and while war is the most talked about, it’s far from the most common.
