Many will cross the borders into Mexico and Canada to buy necessities. Eventually, the borders will need to be closed. 47 will lose his shit over this. What happens next is anyone’s guess.

Explaining his approach to the tariff policy that has triggered weeks of turmoil on global markets, the - president compared the US to the world’s department store.

“I am this giant store. It’s a giant, beautiful store, and everybody wants to go shopping there,” he said.

"And on behalf of the American people, I own the store, and I set prices, and I’ll say, ‘If you want to shop here, this is what you have to pay.’ "

This sounds like the thinking of a dictator, not of a leader. He doesn’t own the “store”, the people do.

He seems to have this the wrong way around.

The world is the store, and he’s just some person outside its front door, holding out his hand and asking US customers for 5 bucks for every item they want to go home with.

That’s actually a way more relevant take than my original comment. He’s still acting like tariffs are fees paid by foreign nations, when in fact, they’re paid by the consumers in the nation imposing the tariffs.

Sadly (for those of us stuck in the US), the only people who will be hurt by these tariffs are the people whose best interests he’s supposed to be responsible for.

So capitalist that it’s gone all the way around and become communism.

I wonder if anyone in the Badminstration, specifically the Department of Agriculture, have thought about all the crops that will go unharvested in the fields starting around August because migrants won’t go out to pick them for fear of being deported by ICE.

Don’t know about them, but my wife and I are learning how to can and we are buying tons of Mason jars to do so.

I wish everyone luck. The global economy is going to crash hard and we all will be fucked Im afraid.

The salmonella and campylobacter laced chicken should reduce demand before the fall harvests.

RFK is installing his brainworm parasites into the food supply, so there is lots of reason to be optomistic about supply and demand becoming balanced.

They’re already carving out exceptions for farm workers. Whether those migrants will feel safe enough to come back is another story.

I heard it’s hard for many Americans to find jobs, so I guess trump fixed two problems with one action: deported a bunch of people whom he doesn’t like, and opened up job opportunities for Americans. Win/win, innit?

    Hah!

    Jokes on all of you!

    I …

… learned how to stop pooping.

(In all seriousness, consider getting a bidet kit. You can find fairly decent, farily cheap ones, and they can massively cut down your TP usage to basically just undampening your pooper.)

Ever taken a shower with a detachable/flexible shower head, and pointed it upward at your bunghole?

Bidets are sort of comparable to that.

Difference being… if you get one of the basic bidet kits… they tap into the water line your toilet bowl uses to refill after a flush.

And they often don’t have water heaters or or resevoirs of their own, if its an affordable bidet kit.

So that means your bidet water can be… quite cold, if your house/building doesn’t have great insulation, during the winter, or fairly lukewarm, during the summer.

I consider the heater essential and would skip meals if I had to, just to save for a model with the heater. I do live in the north though and the water is basically freezing in the winter.

I live in Canada and find that while the water is refreshing and just a little startling, it’s only the first fraction of a second and then it’s fine.

Yeah, we know :( No one is going to risk buying something when the price could more than double depending solely on what date the ship happens to reach port.

I already saw it this week. I went to grab an external hard drive on a work trip and there was literally one single drive on the shelf at Best Buy.
