Edit: I was going to take this down because it is indeed very black & white, and the real world doesn’t work that way. I feel like this is generating good discussion though.

    No middle, no sidelines, no nuance, only two sides on the battlefield, divided by no man’s land.

    Yeah; this kind of thinking is what gets us into World Wars in the first place.

      Exactly. This is such USian thinking. “There are two political parties. One is bad, one is good. Therefore everything in life is good or bad”. It’s so simplistic.

        I don’t think that’s how most Americans view politics, currently. Democrats voters generally feel like they’re settling for “lesser of two evils”. Republican voters have an irrational love of Trump, but they hate most of their own representatives and even Trump is a way for conservatives to lash out against their own establishment.

        Americans don’t like the establishment in politics, they don’t like the status quo, and they want to shake things up even if it’s stupid.
