Bullshit. There’s a bunch of different subgenres of country. Stadium country is the kind that most people are referencing when they say they hate country music. I’m quite fond of old country.
There’s good country music. Most of Stevie nicks for example.
Also there’s blue grass which is what most people think country should be before they listen to the modern mainstream crap.
