In that case, someone spend a lot of time cutting up a guitar in photoshop for no good reason.
One thing is the size of the head stock and lower frets. That makes sense if someone did it manually. But then look at the frets 15 and upwards. Despite the low resolution, its pretty clear that they’re not in the right positions. Also notice the inlays. They’re in the wrong positions all over the board, even in the places where the frets are in the right place and right size.
If someone wanted to do this in photoshop it would require more work to make it this wrong than to simply keep the original photo in those places.
Why would anyone go out of their way to move the inlays completely seamlessly, while also making the other mistakes?
Idk what you’re seeing with the inlays. This is an old pic and all they did was split the head off for a section above the hand, and they vertically (if the guitar was oriented that way) smashed the rest of the feet board down to fit the length they needed.
These albums came out years ago, well before AI art came out, the latest in 2014. Your critique is interesting and should be sent to the artists that worked on the cover a decade ago.

You’re definitely misreading. The initial “is this AI?” question for this chain was about the OP and not the comments posting his metal albums
Ok
