It’s beautiful.
Wait till you see their architecture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umayyad_architecture
Oh wow! So much intricacy, in structure and the mosaics. I’m wondering if these are also victims of so. Much! war. It feels disrespectful to wonder when so much human life has been wontonly wasted, but I do.
Thank you for showing me.
Interesting.
At this point in history, since they’ve decided to stop making American pennies, could/should it be considered ‘historical’ to post pictures of 2025 American pennies?
Yes they did make some, and I have one. Although it’s not ancient history yet, I do believe it’ll be a historical artifact soon enough, since they’re not stamping them anymore…
? 🤔
From the sidebar:
Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.
Fair enough. I do have a 1928 penny that is barely even tarnished and looks like it just recently came off the mint press.
Guess I’ll see you in a few years…
There might be a more general coin collector community somewhere on the Fediverse?
