Ukraine used cruise missiles to attack a Russian submarine today. Russia has been putting tires on their aircraft to protect them from drone strikes.
Thank you! Does it even work? Wouldn’t larger blasts if they manage to get through a silo of tires be even more contained then making the damage worse? I’m thinking packing C4 with sandbags for breaching kinda thoughts.
It’s a single layer of tires, so blast protection is minimal. The main theory is that it’s a form of camouflage against AI systems or IR cameras.

I love this, especially the guy in jeans and t shirt who’s seems to be getting ready to lie down for a nap on the tires. He doesn’t have to wear PPE when he’s on a break. He is a contractor!
