I know that it’s the middle of summer (northern hemisphere). I know that even the thought of adding fruit juice and mulling spices to coffee is probably horrifying. I do not expect it to taste good. And yet, I had a thought about it and found that it seems to be a thing and so… has anyone tried it?
A few additional sources, but there are a lot more: https://wearelittles.com/blogs/stories/mulled-coffee-recipe https://malucoffee.com/blogs/news/mulled-coffee-recipe
I am not going to disrespect the child slaves harvesting coffee by putting pumpkin spice into it.
How do you think that makes the child slaves who harvest the pumpkin spice feel?
Hadn’t heard of it, but now I’m interested to give it a try.
So yeah, not a fan. At least not of orange, raw sugar, cinnamon and star anise as the base.
Not specifically, but my sister’s boyfriend is Syrian, and apparently they put cardamom in their coffee. It tastes amazing but should be enjoyed without milk.
I tried adding cardamom to my french press brew yesterday (inspired by coffee cardamom craft beer) and it was amazing.
It tastes amazing
It sounds amazing. I’m gonna try it tomorrow.
Oooh, definitely going to try this one.
I’ve enjoyed coffee that was roasted with cinnamon. I’ve mixed in cinnamon with ground coffee myself (in the upper part of the espresso puck only) for a similar effect. Tastes great. Would recommend.
I’ve had coffee with orange juice, which was weird but ok.
As long as you mix in good ingredients, you get something good, that individual taste would judge if it’s likeable.
After all, what’s so objectively likeable about bitter bean juice in the first place?
Sounds interesting, similar to Arabic coffee. Also I see more and more drinks at local cafes experimenting with sour/bitter tastes. Such as coffee kombucha or adding orange juice/ginger. I was skeptical at first but it is really nice as an occasional drink.
I haven’t had one before, but espresso tonics have become kinda popular around me. Seems like a funky combo, but I can imagine it working out nicely.
I’ve added chicory before, sometimes a LOT and it’s an okay flavour. Still prefer it black. I’ve had it infused with blueberries and actually that kicked ass! Will try mulled coffee sometime soon, thanks OP.
I have a local roaster who has a coffee they call “The Blueberry” and I was so worried it was sprayed with those fake flavors that I never bought it, but turns out it was just how that bean grows naturally and it tastes a lot like a blueberry. It’s delicious black.
Wow 🤤
My coffee should be made from hot water and coffee beans. Nothing more or less.
