I just got way more interested in the show. Notaro and Picardo are fantastic. Whatever they do, it’ll be worth it to see those two.
Dunno what I’m doing here. I’m a fan of federation, but not sure about microblogging. Trying see what’s going on with Trek and arboriculture.

Just tried it, and it rendered properly after 2 clicks(3 altogether including the original)
edit:
BTW, I’m on firefox 115.12.0esr on debian 12
I’m getting peculiar behavior clicking on your boosts. Not sure what’s going on. I suspect it’s a mastodon issue(I’m on 4.2.10), but I can’t say for sure. Once I get to the attached page, I can click the links, and everything works fine.
I wonder how bad the numbers were; if it was losing money, or they just didn’t make all the money like they wanted. Sometimes you have to give things time to find the audience.
Prodigy is a bit of a weird one, and I’m not surprised it didn’t catch on right away. IMO, it could’ve been profitable(if it isn’t already), with the audience slowly and steadily increasing.
FTR, I’m old, and I love it. I was disappointed I didn’t see someone, but you can’t have everything
I’ve only yelled at my screen once, so that’s a big improvement over previous seasons.
Heh… Yea, I forgot about that. Trek isn’t always the best at consistency, or perfect logic. They could still pretend that never happened, or give some hand wavy explanation for why Kira and Dukat never mentioned what they look like.
It’s out there now. I guess we’ll see where it goes. I’m not upset. There’s been worse design decisions in the franchise :^)

It could go either way. Someone around here postulated they were proto changlings. That’s pretty interesting. There’s other cool ways to spin it, and lame ways also of course. Like all this stuff, I think “Ok, now what?”. I hope what they come up with outweighs the fun mystery of the Breen.
Voting is garbage. It’s a cancer on all these type sites. Deciding the value of a post only requires basic literacy, and someone else’s opinion is irrelevant. I only upvote posts as a reward to the author. It isn’t for anyone else. Others should read the post and decide for themselves what value it has.
He’s alright. No love, but no hate either. What bothered me most was the ‘Leave it to Beaver’ presentation in the early years.
I’m on the techy side of the spectrum, and I find the mastodon-lemmy interaction a bit of a challenge. It’s a multi step process with some “Where am I?!” moments sprinkled in. The process will have to be streamlined for people that don’t find computers fun.
Haven’t seen unexpected keyboard mentioned. Been using that for a few months now. Lots of keys, not many other features. With a compose key, it would almost be perfect. Hackers is my backup keyboard.
Precedent will make it better over time.
Sorry for the multipost. I’m on Mastodon, and have a character limit. I’m trying to limit my accounts, and working within restrictions, but I’m not sure the Mastodon-Lemmy is working out.
The debriefing can propagate through channels, and others can use it as a guideline to compare with their situation when it occurs.
The outcomes for what a captain does can range from a hand wavy “Good job”, to a week’s long tribunal that ends with the captain stripped of rank and sent to a prison camp.
It’s imperfect, as everything is, but it’s a good workable system when used by elite professionals, and will result in a positive outcome more times than not.
It is vague, and I would consider that positive. In your asteroid example, neither approach would lead to hard disciplinary action, but perhaps leadership could stress that moving the asteroid was the better approach, and that would propagate through channels, so the next time, a captain will act accordingly.
Pike’s interference is a little less clearcut. I think he did the right thing, and leadership seems to agree.
That’s correct. It should be in as-released condition from the dev. No alterations.
It’s a repo of github releases. They aren’t compiled like f-droid releases are. With f-droid, there’s another set of eyes looking at things before they get to you. With Izzy, you have trust each individual dev. I prefer f-droid, but I use Izzy releases when the program is preferred, or there’s no f-droid equivalent.
I thought this was a funny turn of phrase…
FRAKES: You have to remember, audiences were not ready for a bald English captain with a French name. And a Klingon on the bridge, and a blind guy driving.
:^D
More rules=more opportunities to let criminals through without consequence. If you have rules A,B,C,D,E,G,H,I… Someone could reasonably say “You were so thorough, the omission of “F” had to be intentional”.
A B&W guideline, with the understanding that the letter can be violated at the cost of a thorough investigation afterward is a reasonable approach if everyone acts in good faith.

Firefox because it isn’t chromium, and I just like it. With chromium, google controls the web. Doesn’t matter what kind of wrapper a third party puts on it. It’s still chromium and it’s still google.
