I actually became a vegetarian because when I moved into my wife’s apartment all those years ago it felt weird cooking meat because thinking about animals made her cry and she was a vegetarian for 20 years. Once we learned about veganism and what really happens in the dairy and egg industries we felt silly for being vegetarian for so long and went vegan together. We have a vegan family now.

Sometimes I guess it just takes time to make your own vegan family instead of convincing others lol

I think it is funny how (usually Americans) don’t think judgement is a good thing and are always back pedaling about not judging someone or assuming judging is wrong.

I judge everyone and everything. I’m judgemental. It helps. If you have no judgement then you have no personality or personal boundaries.

I am interested and like FOSS but am not committed to it like a cause. This website exists as an extension of the communities that exist on discord, primarily the Vegan Home Cooks. It is not viable for me to make everyone of the members move and I’m not going to push them, we all enjoy the company and community there. Most people are a part of multiple discords and as someone who works from home and has been chatting with this group for years now I don’t want to fracture it by adding friction. I agree Discord has limitations and I don’t align with them as an American corporation but it is what I got for now and it works well.

VHC and VTC the website are anarchist groups and the VTC discord is Left-Unity. I left that vegan matrix chat because of trolling and the fact that I don’t align with the politics I saw discussed and presented there. There were racists, liberals and support for wars and states and I’m not willing to promote that with my website. Maybe I mistook and I am wrong, I am not always right about everything, but what I was reading the general chat there and for some reason that they are tolerant of bigots and libertarians so I removed the link to that server for that reason when I parted the room.

My native language that I only spoke until I was about 8 years old doesn’t make any distinction between gender or distinguish between living and non living objects. Everyone and everything is it and its lol.

You can feel free to police language on Wikipedia or bring awareness to this, and I said I would keep this in mind and try but I don’t really want anyone policing users who may not speak English natively or have learning disabilities.

That isn’t a different thing. Their mechanism for doing so is war. Corporations are making them expensive by starting and continuing wars. All wars are capitalist exploitation and a profit generating scheme. In this case the war is being fought where the chickpeas are grown though so the amount coming to market has dropped.

There are a few kind of chickpeas though, these are specifically the big round ones anglos call garbanzo beans and in hindi are called kabuli chana. Desi chickpea production hasn’t been impacted but those are smaller chickpeas. The other major source for kabuli chana is Canada.
