@darakan@lemm.ee, I hope it’s okay
Not a problem. In fact I should probably add ani.social as a whole instance on the sidebar.
Well I can speak for myself and a few of my friends. None of us have played any D&D or similar ttrpgs and we barely knew of Critical Role. And most of us really enjoy the show.
Finished Vox Machina season 3. Another step up from the previous season in almost every way. Really happy it was renewed for Season 4.
Thanks for posting @Blaze@sopuli.xyz but I’m going to remove this as it’s a duplicate of this existing post.
Release date of February next year. Only about a years break between seasons 2 and 3. Hopefully they improve the animation quality from season 2.
Watched the first few episodes of Tomb Raider and it’s fine. It’s not awful and the voice acting is really good which is part of what has stopped me from dropping it. But the writing is pretty uninteresting and the animation quality is annoyingly inconsistent. Same studio made Castlevania and I had hoped that it would at least be at the same level as that (or even Nocturne which I think is better than this).
DAN DA DAN is interesting enough and the production quality from Science Saru in incredible. Unfortunately it’s a little too hyper for my personal tastes and it takes me a while to finish each episode because I have to take breaks.
Thankfully, season 3 of Vox Machina continues to be incredible. Every season it feels like they take a step up across the board which is really nice to see.
First 3 episodes of Vox Machina season 3 have been very good. There’s also another noticeable jump in animation and production quality which is super nice to see.
Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear there’s going to be a 3rd Primal season
Pachinko is the best show airing right now imo. Phenomenal writing, directing, and acting. Minha Kim is absolutely incredible.
Awesome. Season 1 was genuinely phenomenal and I’ve heard really good things about the rest of the manga. Hopefully they maintain the quality of the production for season 2
It’s not against the rules and is relevant to the community so you’re fine.
I’ll admit the hype from the season 2 trailer got to me. I’ve been rewatching Arcane season 1 and it’s just as amazing as I remember.
I’m not sure about what the arcane would be linked to. I don’t know League lore. About Mel’s mom, I think her taking power was setup near the end of Season 1, but it’s interesting to consider that it might be a red herring. I think Arcane’s world and storytelling are nuanced enough that’s it’s not just going to be a straightfoward Zaun vs Piltover vs Noxus. There’s probably going to be a lot more subtlety in the conflicts that the arcane is going to play a part in.
Oh man, I’m so excited! I really like that they’re continuing to keep the fates of the people in the council hidden.
“The Arcane is waking up” is hype. I wonder what that means for the story of S2.
Fern and Stark are technically in the 18-20 age range though. And fairly teenage-y. But I agree it does explore a lot of more “mature” themes.
I’ll always recommend Venture Bros. and Futurama. Especially the first 4 seasons.
That’s strange. I’d be interested to know how and what you searched for so I can maybe improve how easy it is for people to find !animation@lemm.ee.
I’ve been watching Lastman and am about halfway through season 1. It’s a french animated show directed by Jérémie Périn who also directed Mars Express. I was inspired by watching that film to check out more work by the director. So far it’s really fun. They are short 12-13 min episodes with a lot of swag (for lack of a better term). Great direction as expected and genuinely funny too. I think it’s an awesome example of how to do lower budget animation that still looks really good.
Please feel free to share it here when you do!
One of my favourites. Excellent combination of whimsical, cute, and scary.
