  • I don’t love pineapple on pizza, personally, but you’re ao right that this is just a pineapple hater thibking that the people who do love it would actually give a fuck like they do.

“I hate you and so you must hate me! Let’s hate this new thing together!”

“Umm…no I just think you’re weird and ignore you.”

I just use a clothes dryer on low or, sometimes, even extra low. There’s an even an air-dry option that works better than just leaving things to hang.

This goes especially for humid climates. My stuff would never in the summer and even in the winter it would take a long time. The button-ups and pants that I do hang to dry take forever to be ready.

I very much did not. He was complaining about D&D having spells that made him feel bad and I offered an example of how there’s more to 5e than spellslots to get the job done.

Do you think we don’t also talk our way out of problems? We do that all the time. I routinely, even with -1 charisma, would do shit all the time to get us out of dangerous fights and solve problems in more ways than “gun”.

And none of you have even given examples as to why other systems are better so please, do go on.

  • Oh no, we won’t be able to afford houses or rent or save for retirement or- hang on just a second…

Wait, we already can’t do those things, and the last thing I want to do is, once again, validate the existence of people I would prefer to see in little pieces scattered all over the street for all the pain and suffering they’ve caused just to get a little more money on top of their billions.

“Wrong, I don’t reward players for being smart so it’s bad!” Dude my group went into town and bought a bunch of fertilizer and other things(because I checked and making explosives actually isn’t that difficult apparently) and that, plus a bomb-crazy dwarf we knew nearby, let us do some crazy damage to a golem.

You like a certain style of play, fine, but acting like that’s the only way to feel rewarded is showing your limitations, not the system’s.

  • 100%! It’s all ego and/or stupidity. I’m 6’-5” and get in that BRZ no problem. People ask me how I fit and it’s like…”easily?”. It’s really not that big a deal!

Some old coworkers of mine rode motorcycles(most of us did, it was a bike shop) and the two sales guys who had been to the track once bought F-150s for the purpose(not a trailer, they were going to use the bed). The poorer parts guy had a little Ford Transit that fit his Ninja and the guy who made MotoGP parts on the side and raced semi-professionally had a Mercedez Metris that he could keep locked up tight. My Ninja just rode on a trailer when it needed to move.

  • I don’t want to sit here defending 5e but 80% of the complaints I hear about always seem to boil down to “why isn’t the system creative for me?!”. It’s a lot of people self-limiting and then being mad.

You can instantly create a harder, thoughtful encounter by simply introducing more enemies than just one they can beat on, and/or by doing WHAT THE BOOK SAYS and get the players used to multiple encounters per day so they need to manage their resources. My DM wanted to make fights harder and I simply mentioned that a stronger enemy is cool and all but what would be better is making us have to make choices. I was a stupid accurate fighter and focused on range, and while feats and stuff made me a dangerous close-quarters fighter I was also the only one who could reliably down other ranged enemies. We played up to level 13 in that campaign and there were a lot of fights that were pretty stressful and fun. We even had a tournament arc and that was wild.

Your inability to create complex encounters is not the fault of the system, especially when the system literally tells you how to make it work and you ignore what’s in the book. But, of course, not reading the material is pretty standard procedure for D&D players.

  • Capitalism exists to replace feudal systems. It’s easier to have kings, and to have a handful of them so they aren’t fighting as much for a single spot, when you convince the average idiot that now they can also be a king and its their own fault that they aren’t(or better yet, another person’s fault as you oppress them both).

When all the people who had gotten rich by being parasites because of who they were related got afraid they just changed the rules so that it wasn’t ahout blood relation anymore(on paper) but they still had all the money they’d stolen. Nothing functionally changed.

The entire system “the rich get everything they want and no one gets to stop them” does not have a good version. It’s fucked every single way.

  • Mext municipal election you should make sure to vote for the person who’s championing stronger public transit options. I still have my car from loving in Ottawa but I barely touch it these days(usually for going to Ottawa, because I can easily get to Gare Centrale with the metro here but once I get to Ottawa it starts getting rough fast if I try to leave the LRT(and before the LRT it was a complete impossibility). Not to mention that it costs more because of the mess we made of privatising CN and shooting VIA rail in both its feet.
