You don’t want to over-comment though, otherwise people will just start ignoring all of them.

MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Who is this "Jenkins" and what now has broken him?1·2 years agoI’ve been using Gearset for Salesforce CI/CD for a while and it’s pretty simple to get up and running and it just kind of works. I’m looking into integrating it with Azure for our .net stack but not sure how smoothly that will go.
Fuck, are you me?
MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialto Memes@lemmy.ml•Careful, you might bump into the fourth wall9·2 years agoThe fourth wall is a term used in film/theater production where the viewer sees the production as a “room” with 3 visible walls (think of any time you’re watching a show take place in a house/apartment). The fourth wall is where the viewer sits and is invisible to the viewer, but the characters in theory would expect it to be there and act like they’re in a real place. Breaking the fourth wall is when a character acknowledges either the audience or in some other way interacts directly with the viewer’s reality as opposed to staying constrained to their own universe.
So, for this meme, Anakin (1st panel) is acknowledging that he’s being filmed even though the character should have no idea they’re even in a piece of film.
Wait, why do I see a picture of a shittily managed network stack instead of the comic?

MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialto Technology@kbin.social•Facebook turns over mother and daughter’s chat history to police resulting in abortion charges0·2 years agoRegardless of the politics surrounding abortion, Facebook chat never claims to be encrypted nor secure. Users should be aware that their chats are available in this capacity and should also be aware that platforms like Signal exist which are encrypted and secure.
MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialto Today I Learned@kbin.social•TIL city of Palm springs California would routinely burn down Black family homes to make room for shopping center redevelopments1·2 years agoAlso, nothing in the article says the money wouldn’t be taxable income for the recipients so I guarantee they’ll get screwed with taxes by both the federal and state government come tax time.

Ghost of Tsushima has a very great soundtrack.
I also really appreciate all of the sea shanties in the various Assassin’s Creed entries, but especially Black Flag

MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialto Technology@kbin.social•What is a technology growing up that when you saw it, it blew your mind?1·2 years agoSo, a bunch of years back, I stumbled upon a little-known application called Synergy that was fledgling at the time. The idea of a virtual KVM using a client/server architecture completely changed how I was able to interact between my various PCs/Mac/Work PC and it was great.
MattTheProgrammer@kbin.socialtoGaming@kbin.social•What is your best gaming memory growing up?3·2 years agoThere was nothing better than 4 player split screen for Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64
