But what is the whole point of registering to vote? If you don’t have to register, every single person who is eligible to vote, will be able to vote. Even if they figure they want to vote half an hour before the polls close.

I simply can’t see any point that isn’t votersuppression for why you should have to register to vote. There is no point in having a register of possible voters in an anonymous voting system.

Voter registration is in itself undermining democracy. You can’t have a democracy, if every single elegible person isn’t allowed to vote at a moment’s notice.

Vi beskatter sukker og chokolade mere end vi beskatter tomater og agurker. Det er blandt andet som del i at betale for de meromkostninger samfundet har ved at folk spiser det. Des større et forbrug man har, des mere betaler man ind til staten.

Det er nøjagtigt det samme der foregår med tobak for den sags skyld. Der er høje afgifter på, hvis formål, ud over at gøre tobak for dyrt for folk, er at betale for den meromkostning staten har ved at folk får kræft.

Vi forventer generelt at der altid vil være nogen eller noget der holder hånden over os. Det er i min optik en god forventning at have herhjemme i Danmark indenfor rimlighedens grænser, og en forventning jeg mener staten skal forsøge at leve op til, men mange folk glemmer at Danmark ikke har en skid at sige lige så snart de krydser grænsen, og at der er et højere krav til personligt ansvar når man er udenfor hjemlandets grænser.

Hvis det er hensigten burde de fyres på stedet når den lov de foreslår vil gøre noget helt andet. Hvis en politiker laver en lov hvor “hensigten” er at nedbringe trafikale dødsfald, men loven fjerner krav om sikkerhedsseler og fartgrænser, så er personen der har formuleret loven jo komplet inkompetent.

A lot of people who either voted for Trump, or didn’t really care about Trump are going to feel the impact of him. This isn’t just about Trump voters though. The democratic party is part of the same oppressive system that loves oligarchs, as long as they get paid by them. Instead of looking within and realising they were wrong, and that the system in the USA is broken throughout, they’re going to chalk it up to “well, that was unfortunate”, and learn absolutely fuckall from it, and vote for the next fascist bastard again next opportunity.

If they move to Europe, their values won’t have changed. They won’t have learned a thing, and they will continue to support that system, and vote for it when they get the permission to do so.

I’m not saying all americans are like this. No country is ever made up entirely of idiots, but the amount that would actually support the systems in place in Europe is a very small minority.

That’s my biggest issue with taking in americans. This isn’t something new, it just wasn’t done so overtly before. The people fleeing it may not agree with what is happening now, but they carry the fundamental issue with them. This is a problem with what america was built on, the freedom to not give half a shit about anyone else, and while a lot of people aren’t like that, and very well may integrate well into european cultures, a lot of other people want to get out because this time it wasn’t in their favour, and learn absolutely fuck all from it.

Hvis vi bygger den grønne omstilling op på lyst, kommer vi aldrig nogensinde til at se resultater. Bare se på de frivillige aftaler landmændene har fået uden nogen gulerod eller pind til at sætte skub i tingene. Der er da bestemt nogle idealister der ændrer vaner, men det vil aldrig være nok til faktisk at flytte noget.

Folk er simpelthen for kortsigtede når det handler om den grønne omstilling, og der er for mange der nægter at ændre vaner, så længe der er andre der ikke gør det. De vil jo ikke “snydes”.
