I’m admittedly not from this community but I’d make the argument that you may as well switch to this now because your community will suffer either now or in the future when reddit needs to show more revenue growth. Say what you will about how much the api change actually matter but they at the least show their mentally about their users and platform.

In the line of slightly dumb but low key valuable options, buddy should trip on it. Going on a solo trip really helped me learn to practice mindfulness and to just slow down and enjoy what’s going on around me.

I honestly picked this one purely because it was performant on the day I switched from Reddit. Thankfully I’ve ended out really liking the direction it’s going in too. I wouldn’t be too worried about picking the right instance, just look for one you generally agree with the moderation and pick it. You can always switch to another one or have multiple accounts.
