They’re using RSS feeds. Not the API. Shouldn’t be affected.
Also, the API isn’t closing. Devs will just need to pay for it if they go over some limits (which were increased since the blackout protest).
Depends on the instance. Lemmy.One has downvoting turned off, for example.
(edit) Also, there are differences between posts and stories/blogs on the fediverse. On the stories/blogs you get an option to favorite/boost instead of upvote or downvote.
And since Lemmy/Kbin/Mastodon all deal with it in slightly different ways, maybe they just got confused.

Jokes aside, we must preserve the 78 collection. What if in the future an alien signal will reach earth and no one can understand it because all 78s are extinct? We don’t have Starfleet to go back in time and get a 78 from San Francisco in the past to save the future!
