It’s really location dependent. Some places you’ll see the birds in seconds and others never. You’ll need to know the climate, local weather, soil conditions, what else is growing in the area, time of year, etc. to get an accurate answer.
I’m not seeing any serious suggestions of that there. Looks more like hypothetical talk.
I actually had a similar thought to that yesterday. Could moderators be classified as employees for the work they do?
I think you would have a massive uphill struggle to argue Reddit’s moderators are employees in court. Without that no back pay and no union.
“I refuse (voiceover) work that states they’ll take my voice and make an AI model from it,” voice actor Brad Ziffer told CNBC. “The best way to protect myself is to just stay away.”
As you should. There is a big difference between narrating and giving away personality rights.
But the article kind of negates the title.
However, experts say seamlessly replicating the way a human talks with AI is still a ways away. Human beings offer unique intonation, cadence, and emotion when they speak.
Voice artist narration for big title releases isn’t going away anytime soon. And if it does the job is going to be replaced with technical/artistic jobs fine tuning the generated narration.
What I actually see happening in the short term is it becoming profitable to do generative narration of smaller authors and books that would be profitable using traditional voice work.
In time I could see this working it’s way up the budget ladder into larger projects but that’s still a way off.
Seems someone wasn’t a native English speaker and didn’t know what loli meant.
"I have so much respect for @yay@lemmynsfw.com but i can’t believe how poorly he wrote the update message, lol.
Here is what’s happening;
loli/shota are BANNED and not okay in any way.
IRL kids are BANNED OBVIOUSLY because no shit.
characters who are petite/young-looking but not obviously underage are ALLOWED because as an instance the votes decided that banning all of it was destructive, and differentiating between them can be impossible.
The line will continue to be up to the admins discretion, though we always appreciate input. And beyond this, individual communities can decide whether they want to outright ban all flat-chested etc. porn to be safe.
Any other clarifications necessary, just ask below. Thanks for reading. ~Restful" from https://lemmynsfw.com/post/29826
No idea. I can see not up voting it. I think it’s a bit of a non-story. Country looks to maybe join a group containing it’s some of it large trading partners. This group might or might not do something on the future. Only interesting bit is it’s the BRICS.
But a down vote just feels unnecessary. The story is factual. The source is fine. It might be relevant to someone.
I wouldn’t call it selfish. They want tools for more granular control on their instance. That’s perfectly fine. If they limit who can post or comment based on the instance they are from. The other instances are perfectly free to limit their users as well in response or for their own arbitrary reasons.
There seems to be a distinct lack of controls across lemmy as a whole. The only option for them is all or nothing at the moment.
I think the big take away is for users to think about what instance they create their accounts and communities on.
Framing noncompliance as pathology is a long-standing strategy for enforcing the status quo,” Walker says. “The noncompliant can then be robbed of freedom, abused or interfered with in all manner of ways, in the name of ‘treatment.’
This seems to be were the fight will be in the future. Transphobes will try to strip agency away from anyone who is trans in order to ‘protect’ them from their own decision.
Sorry if I seemed argumentative. I was trying to state that it wasn’t just your opinion that they don’t own user data but it is a fact they don’t own user data.
Already a thing as far as I know. For example lemmy.world federation/block list.
It’s not their data. If you scrape Reddit for the comments are reposted them somewhere else Reddit wouldn’t be able to come after you with a copyright violation lawsuit.
Any potential copyright is still owned by the original user with Reddit having a license to sublicense for “syndication, broadcast, distribution, or publication by other companies, organizations, or individuals who partner with Reddit.”
They would have to come after you with a ToS contract violation or maybe some kind of Computer Fraud and Misuse allegations.
They probably won’t even have to defederate. Become big enough that you can dictate the standards of federation in a way that profits you.
Looks like they smell blood in the water with Twitter’s downward spiral.
That’s what you have to look out for. They will exploit anything they can get their hands on if they think there is money to be made.
Some subs went into restricted posting mode and made it so the only post in the past 2 days is that Reddit is killing 3rd-party apps. I’m not sure how you are expecting r/all to actually look. Even if every major subs closed their doors forever, as long as there is any activity on the site r/all will be populated.
Just need the people complaining about people complaining post followed by a rule baning complaining about people. Then we can get the golden meta post of complaining about the rule stopping you from complaining about people.
Just a simple call-reaponse meme. AnarchyChess ended spreading everywhere. Probably because chess took off with middle and high schoolers during 2020 lockdown.
Be careful with that thinking. That way can lead to complacency. Big tech loves embrace, extend, extinguish
I could see a corp like Microsoft or Google or someone else seeing long term value in federated services. They could create a service utilizing the technology and spread it to their user base. Slowly add in some special sauce to their own version of it to attract more people to their part of it. Then break compatibility with everything else to stop someone from stealing users back.
If anyone says you can’t be a dad because you are gay just show them this.
Meh. Lawyers represent unsavory clients all the time. I think Trump’s treatment of his lawyers is the issue for most. Using them as political spokespersons and his reputation of not paying.
My guess is it’ll go like this:
Trump: Judge, I can’t find a lawyer with the skills to represent me.
Judge: Give me the list of people you tried to get to represent you.
The judge looks over the list see someone they knows.
Judge: Mr. X is appointed to Trump’s lawyer team and will be paid 1.2 x [standard rate]. Trump will put Y amount into escrow to ensure payment.
Add some rules about what exactly the appointed lawyer will do and done. Trump can’t argue for improper representation later.
I think that is an actual threat if he can’t find an expert. The judge might assign someone if he can’t find one himself just to avoid that.
HardlightCereal got banned from Raddle for doxing someone. The site’s primary admin quite literally uses they pronouns. That doesn’t preclude enbypobia in itself but should at least make you question what HardlightCereal’s actual goal is without more evidence.
