  • It’s not that hard, but definitely can be daunting if you’re not too into computers. Really the little RCM jig is just a plastic piece that slides into your right joycon rail and jumps two pins together that basically put it into developer/diagnostic mode. Then you need either a PC, android, or one of the portable payload injectors to get it into the hacked system. From there you can set it up so that it runs a virtual hacked operating system off of an SD card, and you can still boot into the stock firmware without altering your console at all.

It’s relatively easy if you follow instructions and have an early switch. The later model ones do require you physically solder on a modchip, which I wouldn’t have bothered with if I hadn’t bought one of the early switches.

  • Their Turkey Ranch and Bacon sandwich with a bit of Arby’s sauce is S-tier fast food. And their curly fries, while not the best fries around, definitely beat McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc. Plus their horsey sauce is a nice take on Horseradish if you’re not in the mood for a lot of spiciness. So yeah, Arby’s is pretty solid.

  • While I do think we need to enact much stricter gun control, people touting this website about “mass shootings” always gives the outside world the idea that all of them on that list are like the Vegas concert shooting, which people think of when they hear the term “mass shooting.”

From their methodology page on how they characterize a mass shooting-

In that, the criteria are simple…if four or more people are shot or killed in a single incident, not including the shooter, that incident is categorized as a mass shooting based purely on that numerical threshold.

If you click through the incidents and read the reports, almost all are isolated incidents. Gang violence, mentally ill people murdering their family and committing suicide, other terrible things like that. Which is tragic and very much strengthens the argument about needing stricter gun control. But people keep linking that page, people go there and see a wall of reports, and assume all of them are crazed gunmen firing indiscriminately into a crowd at a shopping mall or the like. It’s not like that at all, but curating the data with their methodology and saying the details don’t matter and all mass shootings are the same as long as 4 people are injured just paints a disengenuous picture to people who don’t live here. I’ve seen plenty of people that post they refuse to visit the US because they think they’ll be randomly shot for no reason while walking down the street, which isn’t at all a normal occurance. Sadly I’m more afraid that if a cop wants to stop and talk to me that I’ll get shot much more than I am going to a festival.

  • The issue with the suicide wasn’t at all Linus’s fault and is just being thrown around sensationally to make him look as bad as possible.

Linus’s old workplace, NCIX (kind of like Canadian Circuit City) went out of business, and he went to the out of business auction to try and get the YouTube silver play button from the NCIX youtube channel that he had started. A young dude that has started his own youtube channel that got screwed out of his own silver play button won the auction, and he just wanted to have one since the marketing network his channel was a part of screwed up and he didn’t get one from YouTube despite earning it. Linus approached him and asked to buy it back from him, and the guy agreed. But after Linus saw his YouTube channel and understood his situation, he decided to let the guy keep it since he was being cool about Linus paying him for it at cost of the winning bid, and not trying to extort anything from Linus.

But his fans got upset anyway since they’re bored teenagers, and started harassing the guy constantly to give the play button to Linus. When he found out, he told the community to stop-

But of course they didn’t, and eventually the guy stopped making videos. He was already depressed and bullied at school and his personal life, and according to the reddit post by his father, he took his own life a couple years later, and his mother ended up committing suicide as well because of it.

I’m pretty angry about the whole situation and the allegations of harassment, but trying to pin a double suicide on a person that didn’t cause it for article clicks and up votes is just sickening and unethical, IMO. Linus already has plenty to answer to, but piggybacking off of the recent controversy to try and pin an incredibly sad and serious situation on him that he didn’t cause is a disgusting move by shitty media outlets.
