      20% of the fresh water in the world (not counting ice blocks) is in the Great Lakes, which divide the U.S. and Canada, fresh water I doubt would be a worry for either.

        Aren’t most of the middling to good lakes increasingly polluted to the point where they’re not suitable for drinking water, though?

          I mean I know I’ve pissed in the St. Lawrence dozens of times, but I’m sure that’s flushed out by now.

          I’m sure there is some pollution, but it has to be easier to sanitize that water than to start with ocean water.
