Capitals fan here so I’ll get us started.
I’m going with Nic Dowd. The man is super consistent, rarely misses a shift and finds a way to impact games more often than a 4th line ‘grinder’ should.
He’s also the only guy on the team who seems to know how to win a faceoff.
This is much more on a league perspective than a team perspective, but I’d say Kris Letang for the Penguins. He’s had his ups and downs, but he’s been the Penguins go to D-man for like 15 years. He’s rarely discussed among the best defensemen in the league. Then again, maybe that’s because he shouldn’t usually be in that discussion and I’m just biased as a Pens fan.
Nah he would be in the talks all the time, if he could stay healthy for a couple seasons. Love the man, but I fear how he’s going to feel in like 15 years
Yeah, especially with the stroke. Hopefully that was a one time freak occurrence and not a recurring problem for him. To be that young and have a stroke is scary stuff.
For the Habs, I think that Jake Evans deserves more love. He doesn’t put a lot of points as a 4th line center, but he has decent playmaking abilities.
Canucks fan here and i feel the obvious answer is JT Miller. Some fans rally need to chill out.
Canucks fans here. JT is my vote as well. Yes he has his moments (lazy line change and giving up play) but his good efforts defn is way more than those lazy moments.
Blackhawks fan here, I’m going to say Mackenzie Entwistle. May not put up big numbers, but is one of the hardest working guys on the ice when he’s out there and fought his way out of the AHL a couple years ago during the preseason
Matt Murray deserves more love, he was competing with Samsonov for starter until he got injured but people act like he’s the worst goalie in the league
I wonder if that’s because of his perceived fall from where was during those early Pittsburgh runs?
One can only hope Leonard changes that for the Caps.
For my other team, the Rangers, I’d probably have to go with either Braden Schneider or Filip Chytil. They can change games with a great play every so often.
For the Jets, Adam Lowry is pretty well known and well liked locally, but outside of Winnipeg I don’t think anyone would recognize his name. He’s just been a really consistent, loyal to the franchise, and hard working 3rd liner for a lot of years, whose stats don’t ever do him justice.
