I would be thankful if people would stop mentioning Twitter. Just let the platform burn to the ground and fade into irrelevance.
I would be even more thankful if Google News would replace their “From Twitter” section with a “From Mastodon” or a “From Social Media” section.
Google and every other tech company are desperate to justify a pay to play internet model because when people realize all this shit can be run cheaply and without ads they are toast. So ya, they will never promote mastodon or the fedverse
Constantly posting on other platforms about how you’re not on Twitter or how Elon Musk is a bad person is several orders of magnitude worse than just using Twitter.
I think there’s a lot of people that still haven’t gotten the memo that they shouldn’t be using Twitter or reddit. People still need to be reminded of exactly why if we ever want to see a full shift away from those platforms.
Unfortunately, those messages need to be posted elsewhere because they really aren’t reaching the right audience here. We came here to escape those platforms so the constant shit posting about them is a huge annoyance.
I hadn’t really used it in years but I read some twitter accounts still so I had my account open to do that, but once that shithead Musk reinstated an account that tweeted child porn, I deleted all my old tweets that I could and deleted my account. I realize I’m just a blip to Twitter but it feels good to have it gone. I’m enjoying Firefish and Lemmy and Pixelfed.
Well no one is on Twitter anymore. X on the other hand…
I’m not really thankful for it, it’s just a fact of life, like the sky is blue, water is wet, I’m not on twixxer.

As non-american I have no real use for X
Add Facebook to that list!
I have a burner account that I use to view the links I can’t access otherwise, but I never go on it for any reason but that
Xit
I would like to say not being in any social media
I’ve seen the rebranded site written as “Xitter”. Note that in the modern system for transliterating Chinese, the letter x makes the “sh” sound (e.g. the Chinese word for thank you is rendered “xie xie”). I think these two facts go together nicely.
Thanks for remind me of its existence

Well, to be honest I’m not on Twitter either, I’m on X… 😜
