Hi All,

I’m looking for testers for the iPad version of Bean as currently it’s a bit of a mess…

I’ve started work on switching over to things like split views there but there’s a lot of work to be done and I want the app to be a first class citizen on the platform.

This means supporting things like keyboard short cuts, Split View, multi-window, and more.

If you’re interested in testing please leave a comment with the following information:

  • iPad Model
  • iOS Version
  • Whether you use a keyboard

I’ll DM you a link to the limited TestFlight once it’s been approved by Apple for testing.

Of course, if anyone has suggestions for what else could be improved on iPad, I’m all ears. I don’t own one so I only know so much!

    Hey everyone, quick update!

I’m going to send out some more invites tomorrow or Sunday. I was hoping to get to this today but had some life stuff and things on the general iOS version to fix.

I’ll roll the recent patches into the current 1.1 build and push it up to TestFlight before I send the invites out.

The UI is very much unfinished on it and it’s a WIP. I have some ideas on what I want to do (three column layout with no tab bar) so we might go through a few iterations together 😎

I’m not currently an iPad user but I have been in the past. As is my goal with Bean in general, I want to make the best app I can — Lemmy deserves it!

    I like it here a lot ❤️

For the larger iPads, it would be nice if we can get two columns.

The left column is the posts view and tapping on a post opens up in the right with the post on top and comments under it.

Im using an iPad mini 6 and Split View already works?

Can’t really say anything about the rest, as I don’t use it.
