Hey all, super happy to see Lemmy picking up. How do you do your screen caps? What software/settings/GPU do you use to get a good result?
I feel like you can get pretty decent results but I want to make sure I’m doing it right.
OBS was going to be my answer as well. There’s tons of videos on YouTube or a quick Google search that’ll explain the best settings to use depending on what output you’re looking for.
I’ve used OBS for years and can say I’ve very rarely had any issues with it.
When I use OBS, my records usually just show a black screen. I had better luck with Audials but it took some playing with the settings. Is there a setting on OBS that allows for the content to actually show up?
I am not sure what issue you are experiencing, cause it works exactly as you say for me
Hardware acceleration is probably the cause. If you turn that off, it will probably fix that issue.
I use OBS studio. Probably overkill for grabbing convert vids to rewatch later but it works! Then load into a plex server.
What about ShareX?
I’ve never heard of this one. Is it any good?
I’ve only used it for screenshots and gifs so far. Works pretty well, and you can easily upload it to image hosting sites like imgur within the program.
