I tried subscribing to !programmerhumor@lemmy.ml, but it just says ‘pending subscription’. Is there a feature where moderators have to accept your subscription? or is this simply a loading message? (Refreshing does nothing)
EDIT: Turns out it was just because the instance was overloaded. Some of the requests went through, and others I readded at a later time.
I the same problem with the community. I ended up unsubbing and then resubbing and it worked. I assume it’s a lemmy.ml load problem?
Oh, this is probably it then, I remember reading about them being overloaded. I didn’t actually now subscriptions were related to the target instance, rather than the user’s instance🤷♂️
I have this problem quite often. Any insights from anyone?
Are you trying to subscribe to any lemmy.ml communities? I remember reading that lemmy.ml defederated lemmynsfw.com (your instance)
Looks like that is the case! But how were you able to see my comment and reply then?
I am on an instance called feddit.dk, it is federated to almost every instance. It’s sadly one of the side-effects of having a federated system. The owner of lemmy.ml was not interested in hosting nsfw content, so they decided to defederate. I saw a post from someone else on lemmynsfw, saying they just had two accounts
But the “true version” of this thread exists on Lemmy Support@lemmy.ml does it not? I thought my comment into this thread would not be seen by anyone outside lemmynsfw when lemmy.ml blocks lemmynsfw?
oh, that’s a good point 🤔 now I’m lost
