What a great way to anger absolutely everyone
This is America, and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let anybody shoot us except for us!
I’m gonna start posting this every time I see SLAM in a headline.
This shit be slammin’ bro _
slam this doiiiiiiiiik
20 years ago Dems would be united in calling Republicans genocidal war mongers for this shit…
But since Biden is like this, suddenly it’s acceptable.
If we let it be, then 20 years from now it’ll be even worse.
Dissent is unacceptable during an election cycle.
And now the election cycle is permanent.
Gotta spend a year “giving em a chance”
Year 2 you can’t criticize because of midterms are coming and party unity.
Year 3 we likely just lost House and/or Senate and nothing can be done.
Year 4 is election year.
If we get a second term, the candidate is more rightwing because there was no primary for the people to drag them to the left. We likely still won’t have both House and Senate, so nothing will get done.
Then the next election we actually get a primary, but general turnout is depressed because we just had 8 years of no real progress. So we end up with a Republican most of the time.
After 1 or 2 terms, Dems sweep elections and the cycle repeats. But it’s faster to break than build, so we’re starting off worse than we were except maybe a few social issues.
Biden’s mouthpiece
This is the best summary I could come up with:
White House spokesperson John Kirby was slammed after he claimed that the Israeli military is doing a better job at protecting civilians in Gaza than their American counterparts would.
This caused anger by many on social media, particularly on the left, where The Nation writer Jeet Heer argued: ‘If I were in the Pentagon I’d be very upset that a government spokesperson was saying that the US military is less mindful of civilian life than the IDF.’
'This is the American government quite literally willing to sully the image of their own military - undoubtedly the most sacred institution in the country - and sacrifice it so that Israel can continue its carnage.
‘Now, obviously, those steps, while noteworthy, haven’t been enough to reduce the civilian casualties, which is why the president spoke so forthrightly about it yesterday and why we’re going to continue to do everything we can to press the Israelis to be more careful,’ he said.
Kirby noted that ‘we are working very, very closely with our Israeli counterparts’ and added that they would not support a military operation in Rafah that did not account for refugees.
President Biden welcomed Jordan´s King Abdullah II to the White House Monday for talks on how to end the months-long war and plan for what comes afterward.
The original article contains 552 words, the summary contains 216 words. Saved 61%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
Kirby said that he has seen the IDF ‘take actions - sometimes actions that even I’m not sure our own military would take - in terms of informing civilian populations ahead of operations, where to go or not to go. They have taken steps.’
How is this controversial? The daily mail is an awful source.
IOF are doing such things as ordering civilians to evacuate and then killing the evacuating people. I bet later they will say “see, we ordered them to evacuate but they didn’t so they are to blame for dying”.
