I know it never went away, but I expect piracy to have a major resurgence as these services all get less and less consumer friendly.

Yeah, but I expect the studios to be a lot harsher with takedowns now that there isn’t a backup revenue stream to fund content.

I also expect stream hopping to be a bigger thing since Google and Apple make it easy to cancel streaming services through them so that you can go between the different streaming services.

Install uBlock Origin on PC/phone and you have no ads, for free.

For TVs and Android boxes there’s SmartTubeNext (also free), an alternative YouTube front-end with no ads and a lot of cool features you’d only dream of on the standard ad-filled app.

If you get Premium, you don’t get ads except those added by the creators in their videos.

I don’t see the moral reason to skip paying reasonable prices for content that I enjoy.

Google shares Premium revenue with creators.

Also, Google provides the distribution for me to watch the videos. There isn’t a case around where the distribution chain isn’t compensated for delivering the product some how.

SmartTubeNext Is spectacular tbh. I expected it to be clunky but no, it works better than the default YT app

What a weird way to phrase it. I mean wouldn’t a headline like “Peacock raises prices after less than 3 years” be more accurate? I know inflation has been off the charts but, there is no way subscription services raising prices every couple of years is going to be sustainable. (It already isn’t)

I’m fairly certain I get Peacock free with my Internet subscription. I haven’t even bothered to make an account. Do they actually have any interesting content, besides older shows that used to stream on other services but are now exclusive to Peacock?

It’s not available in my country but some of those older shows have new content not previously available, which honestly is one reason why I want to get it if it’s ever available.

If you like the office they have the superfan episodes which I’ve really enjoyed. Other than that they try to make new content but it hasn’t really drawn my attention other than Cocaine Bear and the Twisted Metal moving coming in a littler over a week. It’s not great but if you get it for a month and watch everything you want I’m sure your $12 will be well spent.

I like to watch INDYCAR racing and the only place to see practices and qualifications is Peacock. I got it for free from my Xfinity internet but they stopped giving that for free here just recently.
