That feel when people just aren’t listening and you get more and more upset because, my god, people are fucking dying from this shit, it’s affecting real lives, and you begin to be visibly upset and sound upset.
Cue the fact that you’re emotionally invested means you must be wrong, because only stoic assholes are allowed to have opinions that matter, apparently. If you got upset that the situation in question killed someone you loved, that’s your fault, not the system killing your loved one.
Apply this to climate change, or police brutality, or anything really, and the fuckwits who spend all their time lecturing you on “civility” while being the most uncivil, hateful motherfuckers you ever meet will crawl out of the woodwork for you.
It’s so fun that their actions are never “civil” but if we call them out on their shitty behavior, we’re the ones who are not civil.
