Let me know if it’s already been answered and I can delete this post.
Yes there are two in the works specifically for Kbin. One is called Artemis. It’s still in private testing right now. The other is not named yet and in very early stages. It’s being developed by the same person, Dan Supernault, who created Pixelfed.
Here’s a link to an article that may be helpful to you. It covers an intro to federated spaces and towards the bottom lists some mobile apps for the platforms.
Threadiversal Travel A guide for Lemmy, Kbin and general Reddit off-ramping
I’ve been staying up to date by subscribing to their magazine at https://kbin.social/m/ArtemisApp.
Have you tried kbin itself as what’s called a Progressive Web App? On Android when you go to the kbin home page at some point there’s a prompt to Install. For iPhone it’s a little different - you Apply or Share the homepage and below your contacts you can place it on the home screen. There’s other apps in the works, but I’ve found the Android version pretty decent to browse in. I will put a caveat that I normally use desktop, the phone is only for if I’m sitting around somewhere and there’s wifi.
On android. Right now I have a shortcut from browser on my homepage. App would be great all around. Problem I’m having is every time I click on it I have to sign in, even if I choose remember me. Second problem is it opens a new tab in my browser, and with tildes and squabble (just got squabble app thankfully) it adds up fast and I’ll have 12 tabs of just these sites in my browser.
Also have not seen any prompts to install.I just uninstalled and tried it again to see how I did it. I used Chrome (I don’t know if that matters) and opened kbin.social. It had a prompt for install right at the bottom. Using Tracfone Galaxy 5.
I’ll try again, thanks!
Worked!
