Which is something I’m quite surprised I’m saying, because for how perfect the first two records are, every release since has felt less relevant to me than the previous.

Unsurprisingly, But Here We Are is an emotional ride, and perhaps it’s because I’m kinda tired and emotional today, but the closing track, ‘Rest’ has got me sitting at work, just wanting to have a little cry under my desk.

I am right there with you. I think this album was a vessel to allow them to deal with the trauma of Taylor’s passing as well as introducing the next phase of FF. It is not my favorite album of theirs, but that’s not a bad thing. I have still listened to it a lot since it dropped and I thoroughly enjoy it. Even some of the sad tracks.

I was sat at work yesterday, listening to Rest, and I just wanted to climb under my desk and have a little cry.

“Rest, you can be safe now” 😭

:edit: Just realised I said the same in my original post, but I couldn’t remember whether I said that on here or Mastodon. Ah well, onwards and upwards…

Best thing they have put out since Wasting Light. Maybe my music taste has aged with me, but most of their recent output has done nothing for me. This has some energy though, I might stay with this one.
