- Approximately $1139.32 per poodle - My math says $1201.92 - They said approximately.
- Unfortunately it seems they thought that there were 438.9 poodles - I wanna see that movie.

- Why would you spend that money on a poodle when you could use it for a psychic? - What about a psychic poodle?

- Wow, didn’t know poodles were that expensive. - I’d just get a street dog, costs nothing and will be your best friend ☺️. - No street dogs where I live. Suppose I’ll have to get a pet deer instead - maybe try getting adopted by a street cat then
- Where do you live? I live in the country but still get people who drive out here to drop of strays sometimes.

- That could support 10 lemmy devs! - For 5 years? - For 1 year unfortunately, it would support 3 lemmy devs for 3.33 years - 5×1=5 ≠ 3×3⅓=10

- Software engineers make buku bucks - I was going to correct you, but after doing a web search, it appears that “buku” is an alternative spelling of “beaucoup.” Neat! - I was also going to correct. Thanks for doing the work!

- If only there was some way she could have seen that coming. - The psychics certainly saw that coming.

- Sure, if you buy purebreds with documentation or something, JFC. Anyone willing to pay $12,000 for one dog needs to be taxed harder. - It would be $1,200 though
- The only reason to pay that much is if you’re planning on starting breeding yourself. - If you breed yourself you’re going to spend a hell of a lot more than $1,200. Especially if you plan on sending them to college.

- I guess you just don’t love dogs enough. - If you loved dogs you wouldn’t be buying purebreds. - If your dog doesn’t look like a Spanish Habsburg I don’t want it.

- Clearly. Maybe across it’s lifetime I’d spend that but not on the adoption papers

- Eww… don’t buy animals, adopt. - You do still have to pay for them though. - The elites don’t want you to know this but the dogs at the park are free you can take them home I have 416 dogs.
- Generally, you pay things like the cost of spaying or neutering and vaccines. We paid $150 when we adopted our last dog to cover those costs. $150 is a hell of a lot less than over $1000. - And food and taxes and going to a doc when they get ill and make vaccations more expensive

- My local shelter has free adoptions. Everyone returned the dogs they bought during COVID, so they just need to get rid of them as fast as possible from the shelters.

- Yes generally, but adopted animals can absolutely have challenging behavoural issues that not everyone is suited to deal with. It depends on your situation I think but absolutely more people should adopt.
- Adoption isn’t free tho…

- I suppose that’s an argument from someone who thinks a poodle is replacement for therapy.
- What’s that in metric? - 158 french bulldogs
- still need banana for scale

- If you prefer, $500,000 can get you 5 1993 AMERTEK 4000L tanker
