British police say one of the two men killed in a car and knife attack on a synagogue in the city of Manchester may have been killed by a bullet fired by a police officer.

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — One of the two Jewish men killed in a car and knife attack on a synagogue in the English city of Manchester appears to have been accidentally shot by a police officer as worshippers tried to stop the attacker entering the building, law enforcement authorities said Friday.

    Manchester police had a higher body count than the attacker is not the kind of headline that makes them look good.

    A pathologist provisionally determined Daulby had a gunshot wound. Since the attacker did not have a gun, the injury may have been “a tragic and unforeseen consequence” of police actions, Greater Manchester Police Chief Stephen Watson said.

    Daulby and another man, who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound, were among worshippers being hailed as heroes for barricading the door to stop the attacker from entering, Watson said.

    Not just one of the dead but one of the hospitalised as well. Did they just spray into the crowd and hope for the best?

      To me, it reads more like the wounded and the dead were inside the synagoge, barricading the door, the attacker on the outside, trying to get in, the police also on the outside trying to shoot the attacker, missing him and bullets went through the door the attacker was in front of hitting peiple inside.
