Theme
i remember reading Thelsim posting about the difficulty of generating centaurs. I tried many times and i too failed. So, this week, the challenge is a real challenge: There should be a clear depiction of a centaur in your entry. No other conditions, you’re free to choose the context.
Voting process
Everyone can submit their image to this post. At the end of the week all images will be collected and shared in a new voting post wherein people can vote on their favorite image. This will be up for at least 24 hours before a winner is made.
There are no extra points to be earned; OP will decide on a winner in case of a tie.
Rules
- Follow the community’s rules above all else
- One comment and image per user
- Embed image directly in the post (no external link)
- Workflow/Prompt sharing encouraged but not required (we’re all here for fun and learning)
- OP will declare winner in case of a tie
- The challenge runs for about a week.
- Downvotes will not be counted
- Voting and final scoring will be done in a separate post.
Scores
At the end of the challenge the image with the most votes, wins!
The winner gets to pick the next theme. As always, have fun everyone!
indeed, anime models easily generate centaurs. Made with “Nova furry”. Not a style that’s interesting for me, but some were funny.
one small detail makes this awkward enough :)
i tried to get him to play an accordéon, but i couldn’t
I like that he’s holding up his horse skin, as if he needs a pair of suspenders to keep his disparate parts together.
love this one
Been lurking for a long while, thought I’d finally jump in on the fun. This uses a Flux derivative model called STOIQO Unleashed for an initial pass, then I upscale the latent and run a second pass using the new Flux Krae model.
happy to see that now you’re in on the fun :)
Using Chroma (v50 annealed GGUF Q4) it was pretty straightforward to get a centaur in whichever style, so I tried to make something weirder, making the head a completely different style from the rest of the image.
It was kind of a PITA to get something somewhat coherent and not messed up, but I think with enough prompt massaging it could output something really nice, but I don’t have the hardware to experiment too much: it just takes too long to gen.
Still, it was fun.can you post other versions too, where the head is rendered in the same style?
I don’t have them: I generated a new one modifying the prompt
Is this what you meant? If you want it in other styles I can try them out, but it will take some time
EDIT: If it was because I said it was straightforward to gen them in whatever style, it is because of the dataset Chroma used for training: I would be incredibly surprised if centaurs aren’t in there
Sorry about the confusion
2 in 1 for efficiency.
Half equine, half porcine.
does he cleanup after himself?
Should have added a poop bag.
You really know how to pick a challenge :)
Prompt: page scan of a bestiary codex, a centaur with a human face, holding a spear, overlooking a peaceful meadow --ar 3:2 --exp 10that’s an “anatomically” correct centaur 😯
apparently you needed a challenge to find those beasts :)
Trust me, there were a lot of failures before I got lucky with this one :)
My favorite wrong one was this one:
I thought to be clever by explaining that a centaur has the lower body of a horse and the upper body of a human 🙄I also tried asking Mistral the same question and it got a bit confused:
The only one to get it right in one go was the NovelAI model:
But that one is pretty much trained exclusively on anime art, so I’m guess there’s a ton of centaurs in that training set :)But that one is pretty much trained exclusively on anime art, so I’m guess there’s a ton of centaurs in that training set :)
Might be a theme to try with one of these Pony model… but not sure I want to see the result
i did. thanks for the hint :)
wasn’t easy to get one i can post on a challenge
I generated this ungodly abomination for my TTRPG party as one of our players is a centaur. But Microsoft Copilot couldn’t understand that a horse head was unnecessary.
Prompt was;
Can you generate me a picture of a kentaur that squeeses up a tight circulair revolving stairway, that is much smaller than the kentaurs frame?
reminds me of one of my failed attempts
