This is Lenore, she was hit by a car 16 years ago. She had to have her skull and jaw wired together. She was blind in her right eye following the accident. I adopted her from my sister 11 years ago. She passed away 6 years ago, she was at least 16 at the time.
I lament. I have but one upvote to give.
Her name is from the comic book, which was inspired by the poem.

First sentence had me thinking she died young, but then the story continued and she lived a long life.
My sister cannot remember exactly when she first adopted her, but she (my sister) came to visit me in 2005, and left the SD card with the pictures of her visit with me. While looking at the pictures years later, I noticed Lenore was on there before and after my visit home back in 2004. I had seen them before, but I never paid attention to them until after I adopted Lenore.
While she lived with us, she was Queen of the house. I miss that cat so much.
